History

Established in 1970.
We have been in business for 45 years family owned and operated. We have our family reaching out to 3 generations of experience. Mexico Tortilla Factory opened our doors in Newark 1970.
The business was the culmination of a dream that brought Rogelio and his bride, Ercilia, from Sabinas Hidalgo, in the state of Nuevo Leon Mexico to the United States in 1955 with a single suitcase as his belongings and a vision of a bright future. Ercilia's brother, who had worked in a tortilla factory near Los Angeles, moved to San Leondro to start his own factory and Rogelio and Ercilia helped, learning about the business.
Some consumers find our tortillas in local grocery stores or used in their favorite Mexican food selection at restaurants or food trucks.
We also have long time customers that we take pride and time to develop the individual relationship. We consider every customer as family.

If you are in the area, I recommend this place. They literally make the tortillas in the back. Great, authentic food. They have a small market attached as well. Staff is very friendly. A nice place for a super casual meal.

Been going to eat here for over 20 years. Don't let the name fool you. Even though this is primarily a store, they also serve food. There is enough room for about 25 people or so to sit and eat. I have tried EVERYTHING on the menu and there is nothing that disappoints. My favorite is the super shredded beef burrito. So juicy and yummy. If you ever wanted to learn how to make tamales, they have classes.
